De-Nitrate is an economical, natural, and porous material with a geometric distribution of pores that enhances both aerobic nitrification in the first few millimeters of depth and anaerobic nitrification at the center. The material features a high surface area and supports a high density of bacteria. Although De-Nitrate has the ability to trap nitrates, this capacity, as with other nitrate-trapping materials like some zeolites and synthetic resins, is somewhat limited, and the primary mechanism for nitrate removal is anaerobic.

Directions:
For best results, De-Nitrate should be placed to ensure water flows through it, such as using a canister filter, chemical filtration unit, or box filter. The flow rate should not exceed 200 liters (50 US gallons) per hour.
