Use this diet when transitioning your bird from its old food to Roudybush. Continue feeding adult birds that are not laying eggs or feeding chicks. You will find that lorikeets and lories, which will accept this diet, will have drier droppings than when consuming nectar. If you have a bird that is chronically laying eggs or a bird prone to developing calcium deficiency (such as African Grey parrots), mix 2/3 of the maintenance food with 1/3 of the high-energy breeder food to provide more calcium and vitamin D._٣Do not give additional vitamin or mineral supplements. Fresh fruit and vegetable treats can be given as a small part of the diet.
