Ausyl ointment is an ear treatment for dogs and cats.
Ausyl ointment is an antibiotic, anti-inflammatory, and antifungal for dogs' and cats' ears.
Used to treat dogs and cats suffering from otitis media and dermatitis in the external auditory canal caused by bacteria, fungi, and mites.
The Ausyl ointment consists of neomycin, permethrin, and nystatin.
Helps relieve itching in the ear and soothes pain in dogs' and cats' ears.
There are no side effects of Ausyl ointment when used at the correct dose for cats and dogs.
It is considered the best ear ointment for pets.
How to use Ausyl ointment for pets
Before using the ointment, the ear and ear canal must be properly cleaned.
A small amount of Ausyl ointment for cats and dogs (about 5 mm) is placed in the ear canal, gently massaged around the ear, and the excess near the ear is removed.
The medication is used once daily until complete recovery.
For ear mites, the treatment course is 21 days and the ointment is applied to both ears, even if only one is affected.
Warnings
Before using the medication, make sure there is no perforation in the eardrum.
An overdose may cause irritation of the skin in the ear and ear canal.
Sometimes older animals suffer from hearing loss that does not require treatment when an overdose of Ausyl ointment is used.
Cats may sometimes show neurological symptoms (motor ataxia, tremors) when using a large dose of the ointment; in this case, treatment should be stopped and a veterinarian consulted.
