API pH Down, 16 OZ

API® pH DOWN regulator lowers pH to make freshwater aquariums more acidic for fish and plants when levels become too high. pH is a measure of the acidic or alkaline conditions in water, where a value of 7.0 is neutral pH, values around 7.0 are alkaline, and values below 7.0 are acidic.

Different types of fish require different pH levels to be healthy, so it is important to regularly test the water to ensure pH levels are where they should be. pH DOWN regulator works quickly, is colorless, easy to use, and will not cloud aquarium water. Since it is phosphate- and nitrate-free, pH DOWN regulator will not encourage algae growth.

Determine the aquarium water pH level using an API pH test kit. To lower the pH level, add 1 ml per 10 gallons of aquarium water.

Take another pH reading before adding another dose of pH DOWN regulator.

Some fish may be sensitive to pH changes greater than 0.2 over a 24-hour period, so changes of this magnitude should be made with great caution.
