API pH Down, 4 OZ

The API® pH DOWN acidifier lowers the pH level to make freshwater aquariums more acidic for fish and plants when levels rise significantly. pH is a measure of the acidic or alkaline conditions in water, with a value of 7.0 corresponding to neutral pH, values around 7.0 considered alkaline, and values below 7.0 considered acidic.

Different fish species require different pH levels to remain healthy, so it's important to test the water regularly to ensure pH levels are within the desired range. The pH DOWN acidifier is fast-acting, colorless, easy to use, and will not cloud the aquarium water. Because it is phosphate and nitrate-free, the pH DOWN acidifier will not promote algae growth.

Determine the pH level in the aquarium water using the API pH test kit. To reduce pH, add 1 ml for every 10 gallons of aquarium water.

Take another pH reading before adding an additional dose of pH DOWN acidifier.

Some fish may be sensitive to pH adjustments exceeding 0.2 over a 24-hour period, so such changes should be made with extreme caution.
