AquaClear Powerhead Model 50-V 189L

The AquaClear Powerhead 50 pump is a multifunctional pump delivering excellent performance for various aquarium applications. It efficiently powers undergravel filters, as well as circulates and aerates aquarium water. It can also be connected to protein skimmers, essential devices for most marine tanks. Freshwater tanks also benefit from the additional currents in many applications.

Using Powerhead 50 with the AquaClear fast filter provides additional mechanical filtration for safer, cleaner water conditions and protects small fish. PowerHead 50 features a unique reverse flow that forces water down through the gravel column and under the gravel. This helps promote bacterial growth from the bottom up. Injecting oxygen-rich water under the gravel bed supports excellent conditions for beneficial oxidizing bacteria.

Powerhead 50 includes the following innovations in design, safety, and utility: a compact, energy-efficient, fully submersible motor, epoxy resin insulated to protect it from harsh freshwater and saltwater environments; Venturi aeration feature that increases surface agitation and gas exchange; a convenient mounting base that easily fits most standard tank edges; and water flow control.
