API® Aquarium Salt is made from evaporated sea salt and is considered an essential product for aquariums! Aquarium salt enhances fish health by improving gill function, making it easier for fish to breathe. It also provides essential electrolytes that fish need to achieve the highest level of color and vitality. These electrolytes may be lost every time you perform a partial water change, so they need to be replenished.

Use API Aquarium Salt in freshwater tanks when starting a new aquarium and any time you change the water. Caution should be taken when using salt in tanks containing live plants, as some plants may be sensitive.

• Add one full tablespoon for every 5 gallons or half a teaspoon for each gallon of aquarium water.
