Nitrate Reductor NR 1000 Nitrate Removal Filter for Fish Tanks up to 1000 Liters (about 250 Gallons) The Nitrate Reductor is an anaerobic bioreactor for removing nitrates from marine and freshwater fish tanks. It has a volume of 10 liters (about 4.5 gallons) and an internal circulation pump. The Nitrate Reductor operates at a flow rate of 1 to 4 liters/hour (about 0.25 to 1 gallon per hour). In the absence of oxygen, this condition promotes bacteria that perform nitrate reduction. Denimar powder or Denibal balls are used as the organic energy source. The Nitrate Reductor is a closed unit that can be integrated into filtration systems, but it can also be installed as a standalone unit under the fish tank. To monitor this process, a voltage controller (ORP controller) can be used in conjunction with an electrode inserted into the built-in PG13.5 port, or the SP 3000 dosing pump (supplied) can be connected for a fully managed system.
