The EHEIM MEDIA SET includes fine and coarse filter pads, and mechanical and biological filter media.

EHEIM filter media – highly effective, developed in our own laboratory, made from the finest raw materials, constantly checked and guaranteed to be free from pollutants.

Fine and coarse filter pads for mechanical and biological filtration.

The porous material is evenly saturated with water and traps large and small dirt particles. After a short start-up period, purifying bacteria, which provide intensive biological breakdown of harmful substances, colonize the specially structured foam.

The fine and coarse filter pads can be reused several times. For cleaning, it is sufficient to rinse and squeeze them, so that the bacterial colonies are not completely destroyed.

EHEIM MECH

Pre-filter material made of hollow ceramic rings to trap large dirt particles.

Immediately after entering the filter cycle, the water is swirled through the hollow ceramic rings. Thus, large dirt particles sink to the bottom. The treated filtered water then continues to pass through the other filter layers. EHEIM MECH is easy to clean and reusable.

EHEIM SUBSTRATpro

Optimized biological filter medium with optimal volume usage, long intervals between cleaning, and excellent degradation performance.

SUBSTRATpro consists of sintered glass in a pearly form. The spherical shape provides high bulk density. Thus, the entire volume in the filter (filter baskets or units) can be utilized. The optimal surface of the beads also provides intensive colonization of important purifying bacteria.

Thanks to the large number of bacteria, acute nitrite loads are more easily reduced and the maintenance intervals for the filter material are longer.
