This year-round maintenance formula meets the nutritional needs of healthy, non-breeding, and non-molting birds, including Pionus, Amazons, Cockatoos, Macaws, and other medium to large parrots. The Adult Lifetime Formula can be offered after the bird completes a 6-month dietary program of a high-potency formula. It is also suitable for birds with specific dietary sensitivities.

Storage: Harrison's bird foods do not contain artificial preservatives. Once opened, a Harrison's bag should be used within 8 weeks. Storing food in the refrigerator or freezer helps maintain its freshness.

Feeding Guidelines: Offer fresh food daily, and do not "top off." To minimize waste, serve food as distinct meals. Birds can eat as much as they want, but use the Menu below as a guide.

  • Pionus: 10 - 15 g (1 - 1.5 tablespoons) of ALC, ½ - 1 teaspoon of additional foods
  • Amazon: 15 - 30 g (1.5 - 3 tablespoons) of ALC, 1 - 2 teaspoons of additional foods
  • Eclectus: 15 - 30 g (1.5 - 3 tablespoons) of ALC, 1.5 - 2 teaspoons of additional foods
  • Cockatoo (Large): 15 - 30 g (1.5 - 5 tablespoons) of ALC, 2 - 3 teaspoons of additional foods
  • Macaw (Large): 20 - 60 g (2 - 6 tablespoons) of ALC, 2 - 4 teaspoons of additional foods

Supplementary Feeding: Harrison's products should make up 75-80% of the bird's diet. It is recommended that 15-20% of the diet generally consists of high-quality, preferably organic, vegetables and fruits. Dark items like sweet potatoes, carrots, pumpkin, winter squash, broccoli, parsley, spinach, mango, or papaya are most beneficial. It is recommended that 5% of the diet generally consists of high-quality, preferably organic, items that provide a rich source of Omega-3. Examples include chia seeds, hemp seeds, flax seeds, or some nuts. Refer to this article for more information on the reasons and benefits of including these items.

Vitamin or other supplementary products for birds or animals are not recommended.

[For birds suspected of having iron storage disease: Avoid citrus fruits, tomatoes, kiwi, strawberries, and other foods containing Vitamin C. Avoid grapes, raisins, liver, red meats, egg yolks, or dark vegetables like spinach, which may contain high levels of iron.]
