For birds that need an easily absorbable source of nutrients. For medical and surgical patients recovering from comprehensive system failure. Feeding Instructions

Warning: Proper feeding technique must be used to prevent injury to the bird or aspiration of the formula, which may lead to pneumonia or death.

Instructions:

• Step 1: Gently feel the stomach to determine if it is nearly empty before feeding.
• Step 2: Mix fresh: one part dry formula to one or three parts of bottled "drinking water" heated to about 39°C (103°F). Do not use a microwave. Allow it to cool to a warm temperature.
• Step 3: Tube feeding is likely the most widely successful technique. While facing the bird, insert the tube into the oral cavity from the left side of the bird's beak and direct it towards the right side of the bird's neck. Place the food in the bird's stomach.
• Step 4: Feed the bird until the stomach is full but not overfilled, and clean any excess formula from the bird's beak, feathers, and environment. Repeat as needed to maintain or increase the bird's weight.

Other Animals

The recovery formula can be given to any animals needing an easily absorbable source of nutrients, whether post-surgery or as part of a general rehabilitation process.

• Step 1: Mix fresh: one part dry formula to two or three parts of warm water (about 39°C/103°F), or to the desired consistency. Do not use a microwave. Allow it to cool to a warm temperature.
• Step 2: Feed using a tube or spoon to administer the warm formula based on veterinary recommendations.
• Step 3: Repeat feeding as needed to maintain or increase the animal's weight. Recovery is a low-fiber, easily digestible diet, so frequent feeding may be necessary.

Nutritional additives per kg: Vitamin A 44,092 IU, Vitamin B1 26,783 IU, Vitamin B2 23,800 IU, Vitamin D3 2,756 IU, Vitamin E 992 IU, Vitamin B12 400 mcg. Trace elements: Zinc sulfate 132.5 mg, Manganese sulfate 44.1 mg, Copper sulfate 1.6 mg.
