Extraction forceps are used to grasp the tooth after the roots have been loosened using a luxator or elevator. The design reduces the risk of tooth fracture. Both the spring and the small size of the handle help prevent excessive force. This provides better control during the extraction process. It is recommended to lubricate the forceps' joint screw to improve the spring function.
