Luxator instruments are used to extend and separate the periodontal ligament and insert a wedge between the root and the surrounding bone, resulting in the loosening of the tooth in the socket. Our Luxator instruments are straight and extremely sharp and should not be used to elevate the tooth as if it were an elevator. It is often sufficient to use Luxator instruments and then remove the tooth using extraction forceps afterward.
