Metrobactin tablets are used to treat gastrointestinal infections caused by Giardia spp. and Clostridia spp. Metrobactin can also be used to treat infections of the urogenital tract, oral cavity, throat, and skin caused by obligate anaerobic bacteria sensitive to metronidazole.

Active Ingredient:
• Metrobactin tablets 500 mg - each tablet contains: Metronidazole 500 mg

Package Size: 100 tablets in blister packs per box – 500 mg and also available in 250 mg concentration
Indications for Use:
Treatment of gastrointestinal infections caused by Giardia spp. and Clostridia spp. (such as C. perfringens or C. difficile). Treatment of infections of the urogenital tract, oral cavity, throat, and skin caused by obligate anaerobic bacteria (such as Clostridia spp.) sensitive to metronidazole.
Dosage:
For oral use. The recommended dose is 50 mg of metronidazole per kilogram of body weight daily for 5-7 days. The daily dose can be divided equally for administration twice daily (i.e., 25 mg per kilogram of body weight twice daily). To ensure the correct dose is given, body weight should be determined as accurately as possible.
Storage: Shelf life of split tablets: 3 days. Do not store above 30°C.
