Net Weight: 1 pound / 16 ounces

Feeding Instructions: Keep live worms in a well-ventilated container. Distribute "Worm Breeder" evenly in the container using about 1 cup for every 250 live worms as a primary part of food and bedding. In addition to "Worm Breeder," provide raw potatoes or raw carrots to add moisture to the diet. "Thirsty Crickets" from Exotic Nutrition is an alternative water source without drowning.

Storing live worms in the refrigerator at 45-50 degrees Fahrenheit will put them into dormancy for up to 10 weeks. Remove the worms from the refrigerator once a week to wake them from dormancy for feeding. Allow the worms to feed for 24 hours at room temperature, then remove any uneaten raw food and replace the bedding before returning them to the refrigerator for longer storage.

Insects used as food may lose some nutritional value after being in dormancy for several weeks. It is recommended to feed the insects 1-2 days before offering them as food to ensure maximum nutrition. Gut loading is the process of feeding insects a diet rich in essential nutrients before offering those insects to other animals. To enhance nutrition, mix a protein-rich food source like "Food for Worms" from Exotic Nutrition with "Worm Breeder" before feeding. Additionally, you can sprinkle multivitamins or calcium supplements on the insects before feeding to help prevent calcium deficiency.
