ANDROVISION® SOFTWARE MODULE: ACTIVITY OF MITOCHONDRIA
This veterinary product is a software module designed to enhance the capabilities of the computer-assisted semen analysis system AndroVision®. This module enables automatic evaluation of mitochondrial activity in sperm cells using a fluorescence-based test.
Automatic identification of the percentage of sperm with active mitochondria
Objective and standardized assessment of the sperm's energy metabolism
Supports the evaluation of sperm motility, capacitation, and essential cellular functions through mitochondrial activity analysis
This module operates in conjunction with a dual staining test using Hoechst 33342 (H33342) and Rhodamine 123 (Rhodamin 123). All sperm are stained blue by H33342, and sperm with active mitochondria exhibit green fluorescence in the midpiece by Rhodamin 123.
This module is used within the AndroVision® CASA system and requires a fluorescence microscopy setup and specific staining materials. The procedure includes fluorescent staining of semen samples followed by automatic image analysis. Staining protocols should be determined by a qualified veterinarian or laboratory specialist based on the animal species, body weight, and clinical condition.
Module reference: 12500/1700
Staining kit reference (Hoechst 33342/Rhodamin 123): 15407/0012, sufficient for up to 100 tests
This module requires a fluorescence microscope and necessary staining materials to function. It is intended for use under the supervision of a veterinarian or by trained laboratory technicians.
