You can use the EHEIM climacontrol+ to cool the water temperature on hot days or to heat it on cold days, just as your aquarium inhabitants need.

The EHEIM climacontrol+ is an electronically controlled climate control device. You can simply adjust the ideal water temperature remotely - via smartphone, tablet, or PC/Mac. If the water temperature is too high, the device cools automatically, and if the temperature is too low, it heats the water. The device monitors and controls everything.

Also, it gives you an early warning of any Disorders, such as if the required temperature is exceeded or falls short by 2 degrees Celsius for more than 5 minutes, you will receive a warning email.

High outdoor temperatures often cause aquarium water to overheat in summer. This is very harmful to fish and all other living organisms. For example, if the temperature is too high, corals in marine aquariums die, and in freshwater aquariums, oxygen deficiency occurs and algae spread rapidly.

Important for marine aquariums:

The optimal temperature for coral reefs ranges between 24 and 26°C; above 29.5°C, they die.

Important for freshwater aquariums:

The temperature should always be below 30°C. Above this degree, there is a risk of oxygen deficiency, reduced plant growth, and algae spread.

The main task of the EHEIM climacontrol+ is to cool the aquarium water when the temperature is too high. It provides both cooling and heating functions.

In summer, high outdoor temperatures often lead to the aquarium water overheating - for example, in a small room that heats up quickly, in an attic apartment, under sunlight, etc. Even in aquariums closed from the top so that the warm air generated by the lighting cannot escape, heat accumulation sometimes occurs.

The EHEIM climacontrol+ offers a WLAN function. The control unit is used via Wi-Fi to set the optimal temperature through a smartphone, tablet, or computer/Mac. Once the temperature exceeds or falls below the target value, the device activates and cools or heats the water until the target value is reached. The current water temperature is always displayed. If the set temperature is exceeded or falls by 2°C for more than 5 minutes, you will receive a warning email.

The EHEIM climacontrol+ is a continuous flow unit and should only be operated with clean (filtered) water. For marine aquariums, this means using water from the filter tank (with a separate pump). In freshwater aquariums, it is placed behind the external filter. (Alternatively, operation via a separate pump - but with a pre-filter - directly from the aquarium is also possible here).

The EHEIM climacontrol+ device operates with energy efficiency and is environmentally friendly. The refrigerant (R290) replaces ozone-depleting refrigerants, and the global warming potential (GWP) remains minimal.

When placing the device, ensure that the ventilation openings are always clear. The distance to walls, etc., should be at least 50 mm. In the base tank of the aquarium set, for example, suitable cavities must be provided for the supply of fresh air and hot air (for more details, see the operating instructions).
