EHEIM Phosphate Out
The chemically effective phosphate remover inhibits algae growth.
EHEIM Phosphate Out is a special iron compound for chemical filtration. The iron binds phosphates, removes them from the water cycle, and gradually reduces phosphate content in the aquarium. This primarily inhibits algae growth.
When phosphate content and thus algae growth increase again, the filtration media become exhausted and must be replaced.
EHEIM Phosphate Out is available as granules for external filters and as a foam cartridge for internal filters. It is free from harmful substances and suitable for fresh and saltwater.
Phosphate remover inhibits algae growth
Iron compound, free from pollutants
Suitable for fresh and saltwater
Single use (replace if phosphate content increases again)
For external filters as granules, and for internal filters as foam cartridge
Chemical filtration media
Depending on the type, chemical filtration media affect the pH value and water hardness (peat) – or reduce phosphate content and inhibit algae growth (Phosphate Out).
The pH value of tap water is usually between 7.3 and 7.8, which means it is slightly alkaline. However, most ornamental fish require acidic water - a pH value of less than 7.0. EHEIM peat granules lower the pH value and reduce water hardness.
Phosphates primarily cause organic pollution of aquarium water (Food residues, animal waste, etc.) and are responsible for algae growth. EHEIM Phosphate Out binds phosphates and removes them from the water cycle.
