As you know, fish from tropical and subtropical waters need a specific and stable water temperature. Before engineer Eugen Jäger invented the aquarium heater decades ago, there was no truly satisfactory solution for producing the right water temperature. They used complex and sometimes strange methods. Some placed the aquarium in the sun or near a heater or stove.

The EHEIM aquarium control heater thermocontrol is an additional development of the legendary heating element, and thermocontrol-e is the latest electronically controlled version.

The temperature can be precisely set from 20 to 32 degrees Celsius. Control accuracy is ± 0.5 degrees Celsius.

Heat is consistently maintained. The control lamp indicates the heating function.

The heater is completely waterproof, can be fully submerged, has dry-run protection (thermal safety control), and is suitable for fresh and saltwater. One of the most important innovations is the glass coating:

• Increases the heating surface,

• Compresses heat, ensures optimal and even heat production, and

• Forms a thermal shield (aquarium inhabitants do not mind touching it).

The coating is made of special laboratory glass. It was created for research purposes. Therefore, it is free from contaminants that might be released into the water. Chemicals and biologicals do not affect it. There are no cracks or fine cracks through which condensation water can pass. It is shock-resistant. Even extreme temperature fluctuations, such as those that may occur during water changes, do not affect this glass.
