Meeting the nutritional requirements of healthy, non-breeding, and non-molting birds, including lorikeets, cockatiels, lovebirds, quakers, Pigeons, and other small to medium birds. The adult lifetime formula can be offered after the bird completes a 6-month dietary program using a high-potency formula. It is also suitable for birds with specific dietary sensitivities.

Storage: Harrison's bird foods do not contain artificial preservatives. Once opened, a bag of Harrison's should be consumed within 8 weeks. Storing the food in the refrigerator or freezer helps maintain its freshness.

Feeding Guidelines: Offer fresh Food daily, and do not "top off" meals. To reduce waste, serve the Food as distinct meals. Birds can eat as much as they want, but use the Menu below as a guide.

  • Small Parrot: 1.5 - 3 grams (1 - 2 teaspoons) of ALF and ½ - 1 teaspoon of additional foods
  • Cockatiel / Lovebird: 2 - 5 grams (1.5 - 3 teaspoons) of ALF and ½ - 1 teaspoon of additional foods
  • Quaker: 3 - 7 grams (2 - 4 teaspoons) of ALF and 1 - 1.5 teaspoons of additional foods
  • Lory* / Conure: 5 - 9 grams (3 - 5 teaspoons) of ALF and 1 - 2 teaspoons of additional foods
  • Pigeons: 5 - 15 grams (½ - 1.5 tablespoons) of ALF and 1 - 2 teaspoons of additional foods
  • Mynah: 20 - 100 grams (2 - 10 tablespoons) of ALF and 1 - 6 teaspoons of additional foods

*For lorikeets, soak the formula in 2 tablespoons of water and ½ teaspoon of corn syrup.

Supplementary Feeding: Harrison's products should make up 75-80% of your bird's diet. It is recommended that 15-20% of the total diet consists of high-quality, preferably organic, vegetables and fruits. Sweet potatoes, carrots, squash, broccoli, parsley, spinach, mango, or papaya are among the most beneficial items. It is recommended that 5% of the total diet consists of high-quality, preferably organic, items that provide a rich source of Omega-3. Examples include chia seeds, hemp seeds, flax seeds, or some nuts. See this article for more information on the reasons and benefits of including these items.

Vitamin supplements or any other complementary products for birds or animals are not recommended.

[For birds suspected of having iron storage disease: Avoid citrus fruits, tomatoes, kiwi, strawberries, and other foods containing vitamin C. Avoid grapes, raisins, liver, red meats, egg yolks, or dark leafy green vegetables like spinach, which may contain high levels of iron.]
