Uses
A year-round formula for Conures, Lories, Cockatiels, Lovebirds, Pigeons, and other small to medium-sized parrots. Conversion: All birds should start and remain on a high-potency formula for at least 6 months. Special Needs: For birds that are molting, overweight, underweight, particularly active, living in a cold climate, recovering from illness, or affected by liver or kidney disease. Feeding Weaning Birds: Feed a high-potency formula for at least 6-9 months. Breeding Birds: Feed birds a high-potency formula 1-2 months before the breeding period and until the chicks are weaned or for at least six months before resuming the adult lifetime formula. The amount of approved organic vegetables and fruits added can be increased until the chicks are weaned. For every 2 tablespoons (20 grams) of formula, add ½ (5 grams) tablespoon of approved organic sunflower seeds. Storage: Harrison's bird foods contain no artificial preservatives. Once opened, they should be consumed within 8 weeks. Storing food in the refrigerator or freezer helps maintain freshness.

Feeding Directions
Feed fresh food daily, do not "top off" food. To help reduce waste, feed distinct meals. Birds can eat as much as they want, but use the Menu below as a guide. Approximate Feeding Quantities for High Potency Formula (HPF) and Additional Foods:

  • Budgerigar: 1.5 - 3 grams (1 - 2 teaspoons) of HPF, ½ - 1 teaspoon of additional foods
  • Cockatiel / Lovebird: 2 - 5 grams (1.5 - 3 teaspoons) of HPF, ½ - 1 teaspoon of additional foods
  • Cockatoo: 3 - 7 grams (2 - 4 teaspoons) of HPF, 1 - 1.5 teaspoons of additional foods
  • Lory* / Conure: 5 - 9 grams (3 - 5 teaspoons) of HPF, 1 - 2 teaspoons of additional foods
  • Pigeons / Chicken: 5 - 15 grams (½ - 1.5 tablespoons) of HPF, 1 - 2 teaspoons of additional foods
  • Mynah: 20 - 100 grams (2 - 10 tablespoons) of HPF, 1 - 6 teaspoons of additional foods

*For Lories, soak the formula in 2 tablespoons of water and ½ teaspoon of corn syrup.

Feeding Additional Items
Harrison's products should make up 75-80% of your bird's diet volume. It is recommended that 15-20% of the total diet volume consists of good quality vegetables and fruits, preferably organic. Dark yellow items, or dark leafy greens like sweet potatoes, carrots, squash, broccoli, parsley, spinach, mango, or papaya are most beneficial. It is recommended that 5% of the total diet volume consists of high-quality items, preferably organic, which provide a rich source of Omega-3. Examples include chia seeds, hemp seeds, flax seeds, or some nuts. Refer to this article for more information on the reasons and benefits of including these items. Supplementary feeding or other complementary products for birds or animals is not recommended.

[For birds suspected of having iron storage disease: Avoid citrus fruits, tomatoes, kiwi, strawberries, and other foods containing vitamin C. Avoid grapes, raisins, liver, red meats, egg yolks, or dark leafy greens like spinach, which may contain high levels of iron.]
