Carbonate hardness (KH) is one of the less important parameters in aquarium water.

Most fish bred in freshwater aquariums prefer relatively harder water. Additionally, KH acts as a buffer preventing dangerous fluctuations in pH values (including sharp increases in acidity).

For all community aquariums, the rule is to maintain a minimum KH of 6°dKH (much higher in special cases like African cichlids). This ensures the well-being of the fish and that the aquarium water is resistant to load and easy to maintain.

Sera KH/pH-plus will accurately and sustainably increase KH to the desired level. The pH value will gently rise and, above all, be safely stabilized.
