Carbonate hardness (KH) is one of the less important parameters in aquarium water.

Most fish raised in freshwater aquariums prefer relatively harder water. Additionally, KH acts as a buffer preventing dangerous fluctuations in pH values (including sharp increases in acidity).

For all community aquariums, the rule is to maintain a minimum KH of 6°dkH (much higher even in special cases like African cichlid fish). This ensures the well-being of the fish, the aquarium water's resistance to load, and ease of maintenance.

The Sera KH/pH-plus product will precisely and sustainably increase KH to the desired level. The pH value will increase gently and, above all, will be safely stable.
