High-performance filtration medium specifically for small aquariums, Sera Siporax Mini Professional is specially developed for small aquariums with a capacity of up to about 100 liters. This product allows for maximum increase of the accumulation surface for purifying bacteria, while retaining its compact shape at the same time. This enables biological filtration even when using smaller filter units. Water parameters stabilize permanently, reducing maintenance effort. Filtration and decomposition processes in the natural water bed are very important. Organic waste is processed by microorganisms and thus becomes available to the natural cycle as food for aquatic plants - where pollutants such as ammonium, nitrite, and nitrate are removed. Since little waste is produced per amount of water in nature, the existing surface is sufficient to accommodate a sufficient number of microorganisms. However, an aquarium contains a small habitat in a confined space. Therefore, it is necessary to maximize the accumulation area to ensure complete and safe decomposition of organic waste. Sera achieves this perfectly with the unique high-performance filtration medium Sera Siporax. Unlike other filter rings available on the market, Sera Siporax is made of sintered glass. This unique material convinces with its special three-dimensional porous structure. This allows for maximum surface area. At the same time, the fine pores provide ideal accumulation conditions for bacteria that decompose pollutants. Since it is a connected system, bacteria are permanently washed by water, and thus can decompose pollutants with the highest possible efficiency. Furthermore, the unique pore distribution allows for self-cleaning of the substrate and thus very long filter retention periods.
