What is the difference between an antibiotic and an anti-inflammatory?
Anti-inflammatories do not affect bacteria, but they inhibit factors that help inflammation, thus relieving the symptoms of the disease (pain, heat, swelling)
While antibiotics eliminate germs by inhibiting their growth and preventing them from multiplying, or by killing them directly.
And while the wrong use of anti-inflammatory drugs causes stomach ulcers, the wrong use of antibiotics causes the formation of new types of bacteria that are resistant to all types of treatment, and thus become fatal and untreatable.
Therefore, care must be taken when dispensing antibiotics by a doctor or pharmacist, because using them incorrectly and in abundance leads to bacterial resistance to them and thus certain death.
