Within these systems, the flowing water is exposed to type C UV radiation for a short period. The unit is equipped with a UV-C emitting lamp, which is protected by a high-quality glass tube around which the water flows. Water enters through a hose connector and exits through another on the opposite side. The variable adapter allows connection of hoses with different diameters. The particularly effective PL UV-C lamp is easy to replace. The end pieces with hose connectors are rotatable and allow the shortest possible hose connection.

Systems are available in different capacities according to your needs (see overview). They are connected to a suitable powerful pump via a hose. UV-C systems are primarily equipped with energy-saving lamps and a gently operating electronic ballast.

A powerful yet energy-saving UV-C cleaner with universal connections for various filters and pumps. The Sera UV-C 5W system can be used in conjunction with the Sera P 1200 pump or connected to active external biofilters like the Sera serafil 130 or 250. The pump and separate tap in the filter must pump the amount of water that matches the tank volume in one hour. The UV-C 5W system cannot operate without a pump.

Neither the aquarium inhabitants nor the stable nitrifying bacteria in the filter are threatened by UV radiation.
