What it is
Felimazole is a coated tablet containing 2.5 mg methimazole for treating an overactive thyroid in cats.
When to use it
- Hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid) in cats
- Preparing a cat for surgical removal of the thyroid
- Long-term management of hyperthyroidism
How to use it
Dose: start at 2.5 mg · Method: by mouth · Every: 12 hours
After 3 weeks the dose is adjusted to blood T4 level and response, in 2.5 mg steps, up to 20 mg a day and no more than 10 mg per dose.
Dispensed on a veterinary prescription — your vet sets the right dose.
How much is in the pack
