API® Water Softening Pad is ideal for freshwater aquariums. These ready-to-use bags contain resins to remove calcium, magnesium, and soluble heavy metal ions, including copper and iron.

• One pack - size 5.
• Rinse the bag under tap water.
• Place the bag in the water flow of the aquarium filter.
• The pad remains effective for 48 hours. After 48 hours, it is necessary to recharge it.

For shipping recharge:

• Dissolve 3 tablespoons of API aquarium salt in 7 ounces of tap water.
• Rinse the bag in tap water, then soak it in the salt solution for two hours.
• Put it back in the filter.
• When not in use, store the bag in the shipping solution; do not let the pad dry out.
• Replace it when the pad stops working properly after shipping.
