Features and Benefits
- For tank size: 24-32 cm
- With 3 lighting modes
- Enhances plant growth
The lamp contains two rows of diodes with a total power of 10 watts (2×5 watts) or 16 watts (2×8 watts). Half of them are solar diodes emitting light similar to sunlight (color temperature 7000 Kelvin), and the other half are specially developed plant diodes to meet the needs of plants (color temperature 9000 Kelvin). It reproduces the colors inside the tank perfectly and supports plant growth quickly and without obstacles. It is ideal for small planted tanks and shrimp tanks. Its flat and futuristic shape and trendy black color fit perfectly with modern aquariums and look great in any interior decor. Moreover, it is universal – it can also be installed on non-standard size tanks.
The LEDDY SLIM DUO SUNNY PLANT&NIGHT lamp operates with LED technology in three operating modes: Day (100% solar power + 100% plant power), Sunrise (50% solar power + 50% plant power + 100% night power), and Night (100% night power). Day is the main and strongest lighting for the tank during the day. Sunrise works well as the first mode after night and when feeding fish – especially if you have shy fish. Night is a blue glow that allows a unique view of the tank after dark, including fish and nocturnal animals. The Day and Night lighting will beautifully highlight the arrangement inside the tank both during the day and night, and will also make the interior decor more comfortable. The operating mode Day / Sunrise / Night changes after turning off the unit and turning it on again within no more than 5 seconds. The transition directly to Day mode occurs after turning off the unit for more than 5 seconds and turning it on again. It is best to automate this process using the modern SOCKET DUO controller for tanks.

Open Tanks and Their Lighting
Open tanks are a great option for people looking for modern and designed solutions in tanks. They are especially preferred by enthusiasts of styles such as Dutch, Japanese, or biotope tanks. Thanks to their natural appearance, open tanks can become an attractive element in interior design and attract guests' attention. They also ensure better air humidity in the room, which is especially beneficial for people suffering from respiratory diseases.
Open tanks are tanks without a lighting cover. In their case, lighting mounted on beams or hanging lamps is used. Lamps mounted on the side edges or on the back wall of the tank are also frequently used. The latter are intended for small “nano” tanks.
Why do we light the tank?
There are usually two reasons. First and foremost, the tank should look beautiful, i.e., natural. The lighting should make the fish and plants appear in beautiful colors suitable for the specific species, and all of this should be an indisputable decoration for the room. The second goal is no less important – the vast majority of fish keepers want to have healthy plants growing well in their tank. Plants need light to grow for 10-12 hours a day, which is the "drive" for photosynthesis – a natural process resulting in the conversion of inorganic compounds into organic materials necessary for their life. Therefore, choosing the right lighting will also ensure that the tank looks beautiful and that plants grow well in it.
How much light does the tank need?
How much light the tank needs depends on the species we intend to grow there. In terms of lighting requirements, they can be divided into three groups:
Group One – shade-tolerant species, such as “Plea”, algae, Microsorum pteropus, spiral algae, some plants (such as Aponogetonaceae, Wendt group, Packet group, Malay group), Anubias.
Group Two – species that like moderate light, such as Marimo algae, duckweed, water lily, tiger lotus, Ludwigia, broadleaf duckweed, three-flower duckweed, frogbit, broadleaf arrowhead, Argentine algae, common giant aquatic algae, compact, lemonophila, small-leaf Bacopa, Thai marimo, Bonicla, Japanese Blyxa, spearleaf.
Group Three – species that clearly like light, such as Cabomba, “Glossostigma”, Hemianthus.
Light power is usually converted per liter of tank volume. It is traditionally assumed that for LED lamps for growing shade-tolerant plants, there should be at least 0.15-0.2 watts per liter of water. Medium-demand plants need 0.25-0.4 watts/l, and those that clearly like light need up to 0.5-0.7 watts/l.
The "Day" in the tank can fall at any time of the day. If the tank is away from windows and lit only by artificial light, the lighting on and off times can be at any time. It is simply best to set them according to our preferences and the hours we are usually present in the apartment (such as "Sunrise" at 3 pm and "Sunset" at 1 am). Then, we can enjoy the beauty of our "piece of the underwater world" in well-lit places.
