This AQUAEL LED unit emits more light than traditional fluorescent lamps but saves up to 50% energy and offers natural color temperatures. The light simulates different cycles of sunlight and moonlight: sunny / blue (dawn), sunny (daylight) and blue (moonlight) - ideal for aquarium plants as well as animals. Moreover, LED lamps last a long time. A great choice for those who want to provide improved quality of life for their aquarium inhabitants without much effort or cost.
The unit consists of a modern LED unit, a glass housing for moisture protection, and a cable with a switch. The system is splash-proof and can be operated without problems near the tank, for example, when mounted on the cover above the tank.
LEDDY TUBE units are very easy to install. Each model comes with special adapters so they can be assembled in any lamp. The units draw power from an independent source. Four versions of the product are available: two for freshwater tanks (LEDDY SUNNY, which emits light at a color temperature of 8000 Kelvin similar to natural sunlight, and LEDDY PLANT at 9000 Kelvin, designed to enhance aquatic plant growth) and two for saltwater tanks (LEDDY MARINE, which emits light at 10000 Kelvin, designed to improve coral growth, and LEDDY ACTINIC – 20000 Kelvin - to enhance coral colors).

Thanks to the LED technology used, energy consumption is much lower than traditional light sources, with power consumption only 14 watts. This is half the value of T5 fluorescent lamps (39 watts) and T8 (30 watts).

Modern LEDs versus traditional fluorescent lamps, incandescent lamps, and compact fluorescent lamps
Properly selected LEDs are the primary light source in the modern aquarium world. They have effectively removed previously used fluorescent lamps, incandescent lamps, and compact fluorescent lamps from the market. Compared to them, they have several advantages. They allow a significant reduction in electricity consumption because producing the same amount of light as fluorescent lamps, they consume up to half the amount. This translates into lower electricity bills beneficial for the keeper's wallet and environmental protection. They do not need frequent replacement as they can operate up to 15,000 hours, which again relates to significant savings in money, environmental protection, and reduced workload. At the same time, they do not unnecessarily heat the water in the tank, illuminate only near the water surface (so no need for additional reflectors), and, unlike traditional fluorescent lamps, they have a two-year manufacturer warranty.
Why do we light the aquarium?
There are usually two reasons. First and foremost, the aquarium looks beautiful, i.e., it looks natural. The light makes fish and plants display beautiful and appropriate colors for each species, resulting in an undeniable decoration for the room. The second goal is no less important – the vast majority of keepers want healthy plants that grow well in the aquarium. Plants need light to grow for 10-12 hours a day, which is the "driver" of photosynthesis – a natural process by which inorganic compounds are converted into organic materials necessary for their life. Thus, properly selected light ensures at the same time that the aquarium looks beautiful and plants grow well in it.
LEDs installed in the LEDDY TUBE SUNNY unit emit light at a color temperature of 7000 Kelvin. This provides good conditions for aquarium plants and ensures accurate color reproduction for all aquarium inhabitants.
Amount of light in the aquarium?
How much light does the aquarium need? It depends on the types of plants we plan to grow in it. In terms of light requirements, they can be divided into three groups:
First group – shade-tolerant species, such as "Bilia," algae, Microsorum pteropus, spiral vallisneria, some compact species (such as Aponogeton, compact from Wendt, packet singer, Malay singer), Anubias.
Second group – medium light-loving species, such as spherical branch, aquatic tintland, rhododendrons, tiger lotus, ludwigia, broadleaf vodka, three-flower vodka, monkfish, broadleaf arrowhead, Argentine swamp, giant vallisneria, compact, limnophila, small-leaf bacopa, Thai krin, bonicla, Japanese shine, swordfish.
Third group – definitely light-loving species, such as cabomba, "glostigma," hemianthus.
Usually, the lighting power conversion per liter of aquarium is used. It is traditionally assumed that for LED lamps for shade plants, the minimum is 0.15-0.2 watts per liter of water. Medium-demand plants need 0.25-0.4 watts/liter, and definitely light-loving species need up to 0.5-0.7 watts/liter.
The "day" in the aquarium can happen at any time of the day. If the aquarium is away from windows and lit only by artificial light, the lighting on and off hours can be almost anything. It is simply best to adjust them to our preferences and the hours we are usually present in the apartment (for example, "dawn" at 3 pm and "dusk" at 1 am). Then we can enjoy the beauty of a "piece of the underwater world" as desired.
