• Antibacterial in poultry and birds in particular.
• It contains enrofloxacin that inhibits the bacterial enzyme gyrase, which has an important role in DNA replication.
• Inhibition of this enzyme stops certain stages of bacterial synthesis, causing functional disturbances that lead to bacterial death.
• This gives Baytril a different mode of action compared to other antibiotics.
• Enrofloxacin has broad-spectrum antibacterial activity, including mycoplasma, Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria, as well as pathogenic anaerobic bacteria.
• Baytril, regardless of the method of application, reaches the maximum serum level within one-half to two hours after application, and remains at the same therapeutic level for 24 hours.

How to use and dosage

• 10 ml/kg of body weight is given for 3 days in drinking water only in case of salmonellosis. The duration of treatment is 5 days.
