The luxator device is not used to stretch and separate the periodontal ligament and insert a wedge between the root and the surrounding bone, which results in loosening a tooth in its place. Our luxator devices are straight and extremely sharp, and should not be used to elevate the tooth like a dental elevator. It is often sufficient to use luxator devices and then remove the tooth using extraction forceps afterward.
