ParaGuard 2L

ParaGuard is the only aldehyde-safe (10% by weight) parasite control product available for fish (for parasites on fish). Unlike highly toxic and difficult-to-use formalin-based Medicines , ParaGuard contains no formaldehyde or methanol and will not alter the pH.

Dosages
Remove all invertebrates from the tank as well as any chemical filtration. Use 5 ml (1 cap fill) of ParaGuard per 40 liters (10 US gal). Repeat this dose daily as needed as long as the fish does not show any stress.

ParaGuard can also be used as a therapeutic dip. For 1 hour, use 3 ml per 4 liters (1 US gal) in a container separate from the main tank. Declines can be extended if fish show no evidence of stress. Keep in mind that many diseases survive in the water as well as on the fish. Giving your fish a dip treatment will not be helpful if it returns directly to contaminated water.

quarantine:
This is a tank set up to monitor and treat new fish before they enter the main tank. ParaGuard is gentle enough to use preventatively (without obvious symptoms) if necessary. Quarantine times vary, but we generally recommend treating with ParaGuard for two weeks to eliminate any potential external infection.

Sensitive fish
Some fish are more sensitive to medications than others. Snakes, loaches, rays, sharks and many others are known for their sensitivity to all types Medicines . If you suspect that your fish may be sensitive to medication, it is a good idea to start with a partial dose and then increase to the full dose over several days.
