RapidVet-H, Cat Blood Typing classifies cats into 3 groups: A, B, and AB. Blood types are genetically determined and are self-dominant, with type A being dominant over type B. Type AB is the rarest type. Cats with type A can receive blood from type B once, with multiple transfusions potentially being life-threatening. Cats with type B will immediately go into anaphylactic shock if they receive blood from type A.
