Use this diet when transitioning your bird from its old diet to Roudybush. Continue feeding adult birds that are not laying eggs or feeding chicks. Lories and lorikeets, which will accept this diet, will produce drier droppings than when consuming nectar. If you have a bird that is prone to excessive egg-laying or a bird with a tendency to develop calcium deficiency (such as African Grey parrots), mix 2/3 of the maintenance diet with 1/3 of the high-energy breeder diet to provide the bird with more calcium and vitamin D._٣Do not give additional vitamin or mineral supplements. Fresh fruit and vegetable treats can be given as a small part of the diet.
