Punched locking plates with a thickness of 2.0 mm can be used either with 2.0 mm locking screws or with 2.0 mm cortical screws or self-tapping cortical screws with a thickness of 2.0 mm. Like all locking plate systems, when used with locking screws, precise contouring on the bone surface is not required. Leaving a small gap between the plate and the bone helps to reduce potential damage to the periosteal blood supply. The closely spaced holes (6 mm between centers) make these plates very useful for small fragments.
