The Exo Terra Light Dome provides you with the flexibility to position heat and/or light sources on the terrarium wherever needed. The device is sturdily built, with a metal reflector, heat-resistant ceramic socket, and a spring-loaded swivel clamp. It can be easily turned on and off using the switch on the long power cord. The interior of the reflector is coated with a shiny layer that reflects light and continues to glow long after the lamp is turned off. This allows diurnal reptiles and amphibians to retreat to their nighttime burrows or hide without stress. The moon-like glow enables nocturnal reptiles and amphibians to see properly without disturbing the night cycle. It is also ideal for observing your animals at night without the need to turn on lights that can cause stress and confusion.
This versatile device fits a variety of screw-base bulbs; daytime heat lamp, intense heat spot, daytime heat spot, halogen heat spot, natural light, Reptile UVB100, UVB150, and UVB200 bulbs, infrared heat spot, Solar Glo 80W, etc.
The layer reflects wasted light and stores light energy during the day, releasing it slowly at night, making this device more energy-efficient compared to traditional devices. There is no need to add a night lamp unless it is used as a heat source.
One or more Exo Terra Light Domes can be mounted on the edge of the terrarium or aquarium and directed towards the heating area using the spring-loaded swivel clamp, or it can be placed on top of a metal mesh cover at any desired location.
The Exo Terra Light Dome model is not to be used with Exo Terra terrariums; instead, use the Exo Terra Dome in conjunction with the Exo Terra Stand.
