API® Aquarium Salt is made from evaporated sea salt and is essential for your fish! Aquarium Salt promotes fish health by improving gill function, making it easier for fish to breathe. It also provides essential electrolytes that fish need to reach peak color and vitality. These electrolytes may be lost every time you perform a partial water change, and you will need to replace them.

Use API Aquarium Salt in freshwater tanks when starting a new tank, and anytime you perform a water change. Caution should be used when applying salt in tanks with live plants, as some plants may be sensitive.

• Add a heaping tablespoon per 5 gallons or 0.5 teaspoon per gallon of tank water.
