API® Aquarium Salt is made from evaporated sea salt and is essential for your fish! Aquarium salt enhances fish health by improving gill function, making it easier for fish to breathe. It also provides essential electrolytes that fish need to reach peak color and vitality. These electrolytes may be lost every time you perform a partial water change, and you will need to replenish them.

Use API Aquarium Salt in freshwater tanks when starting a new tank and any time you change the water. Caution should be taken when using salt in tanks containing live plants, as some plants may be sensitive.

• Add one full tablespoon for every 5 gallons or 0.5 teaspoon for each gallon of aquarium water.
