Apple Lytes™ features a good taste, low sugar, and is suitable for all horses and foals. It also comes in a convenient and easy-to-use syringe, making it ideal for travel and shows.
Increased body temperature, whether due to exercise, travel, or environmental heat, will cause the horse to sweat. The evaporation of this sweat helps cool the horse and regulate its body temperature. Sweating leads to loss of fluids, as well as loss of bodily salts called electrolytes, found in sweat. A horse can lose up to 5-7 liters of fluids and 50-70 grams of electrolytes per hour during moderate work, such as trotting and running, and this increases with the intensity or duration of work, and even more in hot and humid weather.
Research has shown that just 1% body dehydration can negatively affect horse performance, so maintaining hydration and replacing lost electrolytes is important not only for elite competition horses but for all horses and foals.

Usage instructions: For horses weighing 400-600 kg - 15 ml daily for light work, 30 ml daily for hard-working and heavily sweating horses. Administered orally on the back of the horse's tongue. The maximum is 30 ml per day. Do not exceed recommended amounts except under professional supervision.
Note Apple Lytes should not be given on an empty stomach but should be provided at appropriate times during long-distance travel. After exertion, when calming and cooling the horse, provide low-fiber feed or access to feed before giving Apple Lytes paste.
