Carbotik price and specifications

  • It is used in horses, cattle, sheep, goats, dogs and cats in the treatment of metabolic acidosis resulting from a variety of causes (kidney disease, uncontrolled diabetes, shock or severe dehydration, circulatory insufficiency due to cardiac arrest, severe primary lactic acidosis).
  • It is particularly used in the treatment of respiratory acidosis resulting from carbon dioxide retention, metabolic disorders, metabolic acidosis resulting from the accumulation of acid metabolites, and renal acidosis associated with insufficient excretion of hydrogen ions by the kidneys.

How to use and dosage

  • Unless otherwise advised by your veterinarian, the solution is given intravenously and slowly.
  • The concentration of the solution is determined depending on the patient's condition and requirements, and undiluted (8.4%) or isotonic (1.5%) concentrations can be used. The amount of sodium bicarbonate to be given over 4-8 hours is Edit according to the severity of the acidosis, total carbon dioxide level, blood pH and the clinical condition of the animal, which is based on approximately 2-5 mEq/kg (or 2-5 ml/kg) of body weight.
  • If the carbon dioxide level is unknown, Carbotec Perfusion intravenous solution of 5% dextrose, isotonic saline, or other suitable solution may be given, at an average dose of 2 ml/kg body weight.
  • Treatment should be continued at an isotonic dilution rate (1.5%).
  • Completion of treatment depends on the clinical condition of the animal. If severe symptoms occur, the frequency and amount of dosage should be reduced.
