Luteolytic agent
For the herd
Cloprostenol is a synthetic analogue of PGF2a, characterized by low toxicity and rapid elimination from the body. Its effect leads to the morphological regression of the corpus luteum (luteolysis) and a decrease in peripheral progesterone concentrations, followed by an increase in gonadotropin secretion and a return to normal estrus and ovulation.
Active ingredients: Each ml contains - Sodium Cloprostenol (equivalent to 25 mg of Cloprostenol) - 26.3 mg
Package size: 20 ml
Indications for use: Undetectable estrus (silent estrus)
In cows at peak lactation, tags of estrus may be weak, despite normal ovarian activity. In such cases, females should be evaluated by rectal examination to confirm the presence of the corpus luteum. After confirmation, they should be treated with 2 ml of Clusio and monitored for tags of estrus before insemination.
It is important to emphasize that before introducing any animal into a breeding program, an evaluation of the animal should be conducted, especially regarding its physical condition and nutritional status.
The effectiveness of the product is linked to the presence of a functional corpus luteum, so Clusio should not be applied to animals before the fifth day after estrus or after the sixteenth day after estrus.
Below are two examples of protocols that can be used:
a) After examination confirming the presence of a corpus luteum (rectal examination or ultrasound), a dose of Clusio is administered, and during the detection of the next estrus, follow up with artificial insemination or natural mating.
b) Monitor estrus for six consecutive days and apply a dose of Clusio on the sixth day to animals that have not shown tags of estrus. In the next estrus, follow up with artificial insemination or natural mating.
