EHEIM reeflexUV 500 UV-steriliser
Guaranteed safe payment
The EHEIM reeflexUV reduces microorganisms in the water and removes cloudiness more effectively than ever before.
The EHEIM reeflexUV is another typical innovation from EHEIM: Thanks to an integrated reflector, the UV-C radiation that kills microorganisms is significantly enhanced. While water in traditional UV sterilizers is directed through winding paths around the UV-C burner, the EHEIM reeflexUV allows the water to take a direct route. There is no loss in performance, and less power is required. The level of effectiveness is 1.8 times greater. The EHEIM reeflexUV should only be used with the filter to reduce small organisms (microorganisms, algae spores, etc.) in the aquarium. Five models are available for tanks from 80 to 2000 liters.

The high-gloss aluminum reflector reflects UV-C light and ensures more efficient sterilization
Excellent results with low energy consumption (1.8 times more effective than traditional UV sterilizers)
No loss in performance as the water is not redirected thanks to the special design
Also ideal for breeding ponds as it reduces the risk of infection
Beneficial bacteria are safely retained in the filter where only floating organisms are captured.
AUTO-OFF: Automatic safety shut-off when changing the lamp
Easy installation using the included holder
Variable installation, no specific installation position or flow direction
Accessories: EHEIM UV-C lamp, mounting unit, adapter with power cable, 2 hose connection taps with a diameter of 12/16 mm, 2 hose connection taps with a diameter of 16/22 mm
Special technology for clean water and healthy fish
In the UV sterilizer, the aquarium water is directed as a thin film around the UV-C lamp (burner). The UV-C radiation penetrates the water and kills microorganisms, algae spores, and other small organisms.
With traditional technology, the water is exposed only from one side. On the other hand, EHEIM integrated a reflector, through which the reflected radiation penetrates the water from multiple sides. Thus, the reeflexUV achieves a significantly higher level of performance.
Furthermore, the EHEIM reeflexUV does not have a complex water flow system. The water is not redirected and flows around the burner without twisted paths. Thus, there is no loss in performance.
AUTO OFF ensures an optimal level of safety. Since UV-C radiation can cause damage to skin and eyes, the reeflexUV turns off immediately when the device is opened.
What you should also know:
Compared to regular water, the number of bacteria in the tank is relatively high due to the small amount of water. It is beneficial to reduce this number and return it to a normal level. However, the tank water should not be completely free of bacteria.
Only the bacteria floating in the water are captured by the UV sterilizer. The beneficial bacteria colonies are saved in the filter (see biological filtration) and the bacteria in the gravel substrate.
Turbidity in the water, caused by bacteria or floating algae, is very effectively removed by UV sterilization. Essentially, algae growth is curbed because the spores are killed.
UV sterilizers generally ensure healthier fish, as the risk of infection is reduced. It is highly recommended to use a UV sterilizer in breeding tanks, as serious pathogens colonize on the eggs or infect the young, which do not yet have sufficient resistance.
UV sterilization generally does not cause any type of changes in water values.
The light source in this product is exclusively intended for sterilizing aquarium water.
