The Substrat layer can be applied in one or more layers. It is a highly porous filter material made from sintered glass. The surface structure provides excellent breeding conditions for purifying bacteria. The reproductive area is 450 square meters per liter.
Eheim Substrat is washable and reusable.

Tip:
Do not clean or change all filter media in one process (and do not over-clean). Bacterial cultures should not be completely destroyed, otherwise the regeneration process will be delayed. Filter baskets in external filters and filter units in internal filters like Aquaball and Biopower are ideal for partial cleaning.
