Metrobactin tablets are used to treat infections affecting the gastrointestinal tract caused by Giardia spp. and Clostridia spp. parasites. Metrobactin can also be used to treat infections affecting the urogenital tract, oral cavity, throat, and skin caused by obligate anaerobic bacteria susceptible to metronidazole.

Active Ingredient:
• Metrobactin tablets 250 mg - each tablet contains: Metronidazole 250 mg

Package Size: 100 tablets in plastic containers per box – 250 mg and also available in 500 mg
Indications for Use:
Treatment of infections affecting the gastrointestinal tract caused by Giardia spp. and Clostridia spp. (such as C. perfringens or C. difficile). Treatment of infections affecting the urogenital tract, oral cavity, throat, and skin caused by obligate anaerobic bacteria (such as Clostridia spp.) susceptible to metronidazole.
Dosage:
For oral use. The recommended dose is 50 mg of metronidazole per kilogram of body weight daily for 5-7 days. The daily dose can be divided equally to be taken twice daily (i.e., 25 mg/kg of body weight twice daily). To ensure the correct dose is given, body weight should be determined as accurately as possible.
Storage: Shelf life of split tablets: 3 days. Do not store at a temperature exceeding 30°C.
