 the definition: It is an infectious bacterial disease, one of the most famous diseases of camels. It is characterized by necrosis of the skin with the formation of abscesses and pockets and swelling of the lymph nodes at the site of infection. It may take an epidemic form and rarely cause death. 

Aetiological: Bacteria called actinomycosis 

There is a strong possibility that salt deficiency contributes to the spread of this disease 

 Ways of transmission: It is transmitted by direct contact between infected camels and healthy ones, or by touching wounds with tools contaminated with the fungus 

 Symptoms: Symptoms begin with the appearance of a firm, painful lump in the skin, 2-5 cm in size

- Then the swelling of the skin increases, followed by an increase in the dryness of the central region of the tumor 

- The tumor explodes within 10-5 days, and the middle necrotic part separates from the rest of the healthy skin, and purulent secretions come out.

The separated part falls off, leaving an ulcer or a pocket that secretes pus for some time and then heals.

- Lymph nodes swell at the site of infection, and the animal may be infected in any part of the body, but it often appears in the shoulder, lower chest, or in the area between the hump and the neck.

treatment: 1 - Topical treatment using antiseptics such as tincture of iodine, acriflavin, touching with phenol, then pressing the wound with salt Food.

2- Add salt Food For fodder or give daily doses at a rate of 10-15 g

protection: Isolate infected animals and take necessary disinfection measures.

Add salt Food To feed or dose it daily is useful in the absence of new infections.
