PhosGuard quickly removes phosphates and silicates from marine and freshwater aquariums. Although PhosGuard is effective in both fresh and marine water, it will work best in seawater and is needed best in seawater.

May generate heat upon initial contact with water. Pre-moisten by adding double amounts of fresh water, then rinsing. For best results, PhosGuard should be rinsed before use and positioned so that it maximizes water flow through it but not so that it rolls over on itself during flow. It can be used in a canister filter, media chamber, box filter, or any high flow area of a trickle filter. It is recommended to use a filter bag. Use 85 ml (1/3 cup) per 200 liters (50 US gal) of salt water or 400 liters (100 US gal) of fresh water.
