Pond salt is a chemically sound mixture of salts designed to mimic the native ionic environment of goldfish and koi fish without negatively affecting pond plants when used at the recommended dosage. It may also be helpful to temporarily reduce nitrite toxicity in emergency situations. Does not affect pH.

Instructions:
When preparing the pond and when changing the water: 100 grams (5 tablespoons) per 200 liters (50 US gal). This amount will yield 0.5 ppm. Once every 6 months: 250 grams (12.5 tablespoons) per 200 liters (50 US gallons). For emergency mitigation of nitrite toxicity: 1 kg (3 US cups) per 200 liters (50 US gal).
